There are two ways to create a Spinlets widget: Spinletizing and converting. Both of these methods are available by clicking the Create Spinlets tab.
Spinletizer
The Spinletizer enables you to take existing Flash, HTML, or JavaScript content or an existing Google Gadget and add a Spinlets widget wrapper to it. Just click on the Spinletizer in the Create Spinlets tab, choose your content type, and follow the onscreen instructions.
Spinletizing a Flash Widget
To Spinletize a Flash widget, do the following:
Click the Flash button in the Spinletizer tool.
In the Flash URL field, specify the URL for the Flash widget. This URL will typically point to a location on your Web server.
In the Spinlet Name field, specify a name for this Spinlets widget. This name must be unique within your account.
Click Next Step.
Customize the appearance of your Spinlets widget:
Use the Width and Height controls to determine the size of the widget. If Aspect-Ratio is selected, if you change one dimension, the other dimension will automatically change to maintain the original aspect ratio. Use Reset to reset the dimensions back to the values that were previously saved.
Choose Show or Hide to include or exclude the Take It 2GO button. Scroll down to the Widget Preview section to see your changes.
Choose whether your Flash widget is written in ActionScript 2 or ActionScript 3.
Click Next Step.
Spinletizing HTML or JavaScript Code
Click the HTML/JS button in the Spinletizer tool.
In the HTML URL field, specify the URL for the HTML or JavaScript code. This URL will typically point to a location on your Web server.
In the Spinlet Name field, specify a name for this Spinlets widget. This name must be unique within your account.
Click Next Step.
Customize the appearance of your Spinlets widget:
Use the Width and Height controls to determine the size of the widget. If Aspect-Ratio is selected, if you change one dimension, the other dimension will automatically change to maintain the original aspect ratio. Use Reset to reset the dimensions back to the values that were previously saved.
Choose Show or Hide to include or exclude the Take It 2GO button. Scroll down to the Widget Preview section to see your changes.
Click Next Step.
Spinletizing a Google Gadget
Click the Gadget button in the Spinletizer tool.
In the Gadget URL field, specify the URL for the HTML or JavaScript code. This URL will typically point to a location on Google’s gadget server.
In the Spinlet Name field, specify a name for this Spinlets widget. This name must be unique within your account.
Click Next Step.
Now What?
After you create your Spinlets widget, you will see the Congratulations page. From the Congratulations page, you can edit or distribute your new Spinlets widget, or create another one.
Converter
The Converter enables you to take an image, RSS feed, or Web page and convert it to a Spinlets widget. Click on the Converter in the Create Spinlets tab, select your content type, and follow the onscreen instructions.
Converting an Image
Click the Image button in the Converter tool.
In the Image URL field, specify the URL for the image.
In the Spinlet Name field, specify a name for this Spinlets widget. This name must be unique within your account.
Click Next Step.
Customize the appearance of your Spinlets widget:
Use the Width and Height controls to determine the size of the widget. If Aspect-Ratio is selected, if you change one dimension, the other dimension will automatically change to maintain the original aspect ratio. Use Reset to reset the dimensions back to the values that were previously saved.
Choose Show or Hide to include or exclude the Take It 2GO button. Scroll down to the Widget Preview section to see your changes.
If desired, specify a URL in the Link URL field. The URL will be opened when users click on the image widget.
Click Next Step.
Converting a Blog or RSS Feed
Click the Blog/Feed button in the Converter tool.
In the Image URL field, specify the URL for the blog or other RSS feed.
In the Spinlet Name field, specify a name for this Spinlets widget. This name must be unique within your account.
Click Next Step.
Customize the appearance of your Spinlets widget:
Use the Number of Entries drop-down list to select the maximum number of entries to include.
Use the Font Size drop-down list to select the font size for the entry text.
Use the Width and Height controls to determine the size of the widget. If Aspect-Ratio is selected, if you change one dimension, the other dimension will automatically change to maintain the original aspect ratio. Use Reset to reset the dimensions back to the values that were previously saved.
Choose Show or Hide to include or exclude the Take It 2GO button.
From the thumbnail images of the available themes, click on a theme to select it.
Choose the color scheme. Click on the Color 1 color to activate it, then choose a color from the color samples on the left; repeat with Color 2. Color 1 is the color of the entry text, and Color 2 is the color of the entry titles. Depending on the theme, Color 1 and Color 2 can control the colors of the widget frame or background as well. Scroll down to the Widget Preview section to see your changes.
Click Next Step.
Converting a Web Page
Click the Webpage button in the Converter tool.
In the Image URL field, specify the URL for the Web page.
In the Spinlet Name field, specify a name for this Spinlets widget. This name must be unique within your account.
Click Next Step.

Now What?
After you create your Spinlets widget, you will see the Congratulations page. From the Congratulations page, you can edit or distribute your new Spinlets widget, or create another one.
